Join our volunteer army
We are building a community that is passionate about Union Street and improving our city centre - and we would love for you to be a part of it.
We have mobilised a volunteer force which is already making a difference by cleaning up attractions, freshening up unloved and empty shops and developing digital assets to help sell the Granite Mile to the world.
We are looking for volunteers of all abilities to join us as we look to re-energise the street. Whether you are a skilled tradesperson, developer, tech expert or just want to lend some elbow grease to our efforts, we want to hear from you.
Upcoming volunteer events
Street and unit clean-up
Come and join our army of volunteers and brighten up Union Street. This event will focus on McCombie's Court. To get involved sign up below.
How can you help?
Looking to lend a hand? There's plenty of ways to get involved!
Street Union
We need people who will work as part of the Street Union – an army of volunteers and support staff who will help with litter picking, graffiti removal, pavement cleaning, watering hanging baskets and removing weeds from planters.
Shop front teams
We are also keen to recruit people who would be willing to offer us some of their time to help improve units and shopfronts which have fallen into a state of disrepair. This work will involve sanding, priming and painting woodwork and signage.
Story finders
Events, tours, window exhibitions and potentially museum displays can all benefit from tapping into local history and stories. We will need volunteers to harvest and translate historic stories and bring the history of Aberdeen to life.
